The Butternut Gallery is proud to host the premier showing of “Ready to Fold: Artist Books by Michael Poster and Melissa Whalen Haertsch”. These limited edition concertina books are created by hand by Michael Poster using his photographs as well as archival photographs from the Library of Congress and vintage photos from his ancestral past. Words, when they appear, are poetry or prose by Melissa Whalen Haertsch. Topics range from contemporary New York City to the timelessness of the garden, from a nineteenth century Russian family to the Civil War.
Each book is created in a limited edition of ten and is bound by hand by Ivana Pavelka of Factoryville.
You are invited to the opening reception and to meet the artists on Friday, November 28, from 5-8 PM. The exhibit continues until December 28. The Butternut Gallery is located at 42 Church St., second floor, Montrose, PA. Gallery Hours: Wed - Sat 112-5, Sunday 12-4.
