The Church of St. John on the Mountain’s 29th Mountain Art Show, located at 379 Mt. Harmony Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07924, continues as a premier local exhibition and sale of artwork by both regional and nationally recognized artists. The show attracts patrons from the prestigious Somerset Hills and beyond, who are rewarded with a large juried exhibition of artwork, as well as a selection of non-juried “small treasures.” The exhibit will take place October 23, 2009 - November 1, 2009. Deadline for entries is August 28, 2009. A $1000 “Best in Show” cash award, several $250 “Awards of Excellence”, as well as “Honorable Mention” citations will be presented during the Artist’s Reception October 25th.
Judges for 2009 - Dr. Holly Pyne Connor is The Newark Museum’s Curator of 19th Century American Art. Dr. Connor was the Assistant Curator at the Brooklyn Museum in the Department of Painting and Sculpture.
Amze Emmons received a BFA with a concentration in Painting and Printmaking from Ohio Wesleyan University and received his MFA in Print from the University of Iowa.
Sarah McKenzie received her BA in Film Studies from Yale University, her MFA in Painting from the University of Michigan, and was a professor on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Art.
