Exhibition Opportunity - Harriet Beecher Stowe School

A non-profit community development corporation based in South Scranton is in the process of finishing the rehabilitation of an elementary school in South Side - the Harriet Beecher Stowe School - and expects to be finished with the renovations in several weeks. The building will contain eighteen apartment units. They have maintained the historical integrity of the building. They are currently in the process of choosing furnishings for the building, and thought that it would be a great idea to feature the works of local artists in the hallways and common areas of the building and wanted to know if AFA members would consider donating pieces (paintings, photos, prints, posters etc.) or selling at a reduced cost for that purpose. They would especially like to include works that depict the local landscapes/cityscapes and subjects of an historic nature pertaining to the City of Scranton, although all offers would be considered and appreciated. There will be an open house at the end of September and this would provide for those who donate an opportunity to showcase their work. For further information, contact Nicole at the Gallery - 969-1040.
