Main Street Gallery to Host First Anniversary Art Exhibition

The Main Street Gallery housed in the historic Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, Main Street, Carbondale, will host its First Anniversary Juried Art Exhibit and Reception on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
The gallery will celebrate by showcasing regional artists’ works of varied mediums and genre. Entertainment will be provided by The Jazz Assassins. This event is free and the public is welcome. Call For Artists - Lancaster County Art Association

The Lancaster County Art Association is holding its National Juried Exhibition 2010 from June 13 to July 22. Application deadline is April 14. The juror is Katharine T. Carter, president and CEO of Katharine T. Carter & Associates - a team of leading art experts providing comprehensive professional consulting to artists. She is a practicing artist who has had over 20 one-woman exhibitions in museums and leading college and university art galleries throughout the country.
$3,000 in cash prizes will be awarded by the juror.

Call For Sculptors - 8th Annual Sculpture New Hope

New Hope Arts Center is hosting an annual exhibition held in conjunction with the Indoor Sculpture New Hope show. Located between New York and Philadelphia and 20 minutes from Princeton, New Jersey, New Hope remains a major international arts destination. On any given summer weekend as many as 2000 visitors travel to the very cosmopolitan river side community to enjoy its antiques, art and fine dining.
The exhibition is open to sculptors working in all media to create 3 dimensional objects. Site specific and innovative works are welcome. All works must be for sale or available by commission.
Deadline for entries is March 8, 2010.
Opening: April 24, 2010 7-9pm

Susquehanna at 200

The Susquehanna County Historical Society and The Butternut Gallery in Montrose will be hosting a joint exhibition at the Butternut Gallery from February 20 through April 3. There will be an opening reception on February 20 from 4 to 6 PM. On exhibit will be significant historical artifacts from the collection of the Historical Society, as well as a display of books written and illustrated by county residents, past and present. Also on view will be a selection of works in the Historical Society collection created by artists and craftsmen who worked in the county since 1950, including works by John Anthoney, Don DeMauro, Hope Horn, Pamela Earnsaw Kelly, Earl Lehman, Graydon Mayer, James Penedos, Michael Poster, Ben Stone, Joe Welden and others.

Artists Reception at the DeNaples Center at the U. of Scranton

There will be a reception to celebrate the artists whose works are displayed in the Patrick & Margaret DeNaples Center at the University of Scranton. The reception will be on March 5 at 6:30 PM in Room 405 of the DeNaples Center on Mulberry Street between Monroe and Clay Avenues.
