Call for Artists - GoggleWorks Center for the Arts

GoggleWorks Center for the Arts presents it 2011 Juried Show-”Inside Outside:
A broad interpretation of space and place on the edge and in between”.
A Juror’s Award for Best in Show will be presented. The award winner will receive a cash prize and a solo show in the Cohen Gallery at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, the largest, most comprehensive, interactive arts center of its kind in the country. Cash prizes also awarded to second and third place.
Juror: Bruce Samuelson, Professor, painting and drawing, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA.
Entry Deadline: December 1, 2010
Exhibition runs May 13 - June 19, 2011.

GoggleWorks Center for the Arts is a community art and cultural arts complex for Berks County and Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania, and is the largest, most comprehensive, interactive arts center of its kind in the country. The mission of the GoggleWorks is “to nurture the arts, foster creativity, promote education and enrich the community.” The GoggleWorks is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm. “CLOUD/SCAPES” - Dale Emmart at the River Gallery in Narrowsburg

Annual Sunday in the Park at the Everhart Museum

Celebrate summer on Sunday August 8, 20010 with the 5th Annual Sunday in the Park, a collaborative event organized by the Everhart Museum in collaboration with the Lackawanna County Library System and the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple in honor of the ongoing support by the Lackawanna County Commissioners on behalf of the people of Lackawanna County. This free, family-oriented event will take place on the grounds of the Everhart Museum beginning at Noon and continuing until 4:00 pm and will be held rain or shine.
In addition to free admission to the Museum, there will be plenty of projects to participate in throughout the afternoon. Activities will include hands-on craft projects, face-painting, games, live performances and food vendors. A “horses and hawks” theme highlights this year’s event in honor of the Everhart’s temporary exhibit Ancient Bronzes of the Asian Grasslands and the Library’s summer reading program “MAKE A SPLASH @ YOUR LIBRARY THIS SUMMER!”
Along with the Everhart Museum, confirmed event participants include the Delaware Raptor Society, Happy Faces Face Painting, Lackawanna County Library System, NEPA Boys and Girls Clubs, Scranton Civic Ballet, Scranton Cultural Center, and United Way Success by Six.

“Bright Earth- Focus on the landscape” at the Blue Heron Gallery

We have a really great event planned for Friday, August 27 here at the Blue Heron Gallery on Main Street in Wyalusing. This special gallery gala is centered around an exhibit called “Bright Earth- Focus on the landscape” which runs from Aug 27 to November 27.
On Friday evening Aug 27, in addition to the art of over 20 artists of the northeast, there will be great blues, swing, jazz music by big Daddy Dex and the Groove (a really great dance band). Opening Gala Reception- Friday, August 27, 5 to 11 p.m.
Admission- $10 for this annual gallery fund raiser
Special culinary treats- “Bounty of Earth’s Harvest” prepared by Judi Segebarth and others.

Group dance lesson- “Balboa Swing Mixer’ 7 p.m.

14th Annual Regional Art Exhibit at EMCA

The 14th Regional Art Exhibit 2010 the Endless Mountains Council of the Arts (EMCA) in Tunkhannock will continue through Sept. 24. The exhibition takes place at the EMCA Center at 302 W. Tioga Strett and at the Wyoming County Courthouse Gallery at One Courthouse Square. Gallery hours are from 1 -5 PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

CALL FOR PORTFOLIOS - The Main Street Gallery, Carbondale

CALL FOR PORTFOLIOS: Carbondale Art Walk TWO & 2011-2012 Regular Exhibition Season.
Reviews of portfolios for the regular exhibition season will be ongoing and portfolios are reviewed monthly for inclusion in exhibitions at The Main Street Gallery and across the City of Carbondale.
WHO CAN SUBMIT: All artists of all skill levels and age groups may submit for the regular exhibition season.
HOW WE CHOOSE:Submissions will be reviewed by the Gallery Director, Gallery Coordinator, artists, and other arts professionals who make up the Main Street Gallery Exhibitions Committee.
MATERIALS TO SEND: Please submit 10-15 of your best images (as JPEG’s with resolution no less then 72 dpi formatted to be viewed on a PC) on a CD along with your printed artist’s statement, resume, and a list of work samples submitted (please including the title, dimensions, medium, price and year created for each piece). CD must have artist’s name, address, phone number, email address and number of images on it. Do not use CD labels (please use a black permanent marker, printing directly on face of the CD). Please do not send your only portfolio as the materials submitted will not be returned and kept on record for two years at The Main Street Gallery of Carbondale for possible future exhibition consideration.
Artists whose works are able to be viewed over the internet (personal/professional website, etc.) please submit a link to your site, your name, etc. in an email to the gallery at themainstreetgallerycarbondale@gmail.com

The Carbondale Art Walk TWO is presented and sponsored by the Main Street Gallery which is housed in the lobby of The Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce.

This exhibition showcases regional works in all media and invites all artists, skill levels, and age groups to submit original works for jury. Philadelphia Sketch Club Absolutely Abstract 2010

Open juried exhibition for abstract works in all mediums. Maximum size 40″ x 40″. Entry fee is $15 for one entry and $25 for two. All work must be for sale and wired for hanging.
