Have You Slept In A Wigwam Lately? Travelogue Exhibit Checks In At Camerawork Gallery
Scranton, October 25—On Friday November 6, Camerawork Gallery will celebrate the opening of Have You Slept In A Wigwam Lately? A Travelogue by Michael Poster and Melissa Whalen Haertsch. The exhibit, which showcases Poster’s photographs and writing by Whalen Haertsch, captures some two dozen singular moments across America from New England to Arizona. An opening reception will be held November 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Camerawork, located inside Marquis Art and Frame at 515 Center Street, Scranton. The exhibit runs through December.
Camerawork’s Rolfe Ross said, “Poster’s photographs explore the texture and incidental details of life, details which make us notice life’s beauty and strangeness, and ultimately its value. Whalen Haertsch’s writing complements the pictures while covering different geographical ground.”
Michael Poster’s previous work has appeared at the Sordoni Gallery in Wilkes-Barre and Butternut Gallery in Montrose. Melissa Whalen Haertsch’s credits include a stint as Poet In Residence at Salt Springs State Park, Franklin Forks, PA, and publication in several national journals. Both artists were panelists at the Pages & Places Literary Festival in October 2009.

“The Photography Of Mike Coviello….A Retrospective”
September 4, 2009 to November 3, 2009
Opening Reception Friday, September 4, 2009 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Mike Coviello was a long time member of the Northeast Photography Club who passed away in June, 2009. This retrospective exhibition of his work was curated by Mike’s three close friends: Carl Backlund, Bernie Andreoli and Rolfe Ross.
Together, the self-described “gang of four” formed the Northeast Photo Collective and shared many great times and photo adventures in places like New York City, Coney Island and Cuba. They met several times a year for a home cooked dinner and an evening of drinking wine, swapping stories, and talking about photographs and photography.

Mike’s friends and fellow photographers will not forget him or his wonderful photographs.
