LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS at AFA Gallery

EVERY TUESDAY 7-9pm
$5 General fee/split cost of model
All skill levels are welcome, from student to professional! Draw from a traditional life model every Tuesday night. The drawing sessions are uninstructed and informal. Meet other area artists and aspiring artists.
A range of models will pose from week to week. A variety of poses will range from two minutes to twenty minutes. Models will be nude, with occasional drapery, partial costume, or accessory.
Bring your own supplies. Pencil and pad are fine. Easels and chairs are available. Cell phone use during poses is prohibited. Photography prohibited.
New models are welcome to inquire to pose at the Drawing Sessions.
Models of any body type or experience level are welcome.
Comparable fee paid to models.

Marylou Chibirka at Keystone

Dalton artist Marylou Chibirka will have an exhibition of her paintings at the Linder Gallery in the Miller Library at Keystone College in La Plume, PA, from March 28 until April 30. There will be an Opening Reception on March 28 from 4-7 PM, followed by a Jazz & Java concert featuring singers/songwriters Laura Gould and Mark Murphy at 7 PM in Evans Hall.
The exhbition is a dual show entitled ‘Images of Laura: A Retrospective’ and ‘Art & Soul: Portraits of Regional Musicians’. In the first collection are images of Marylou’s daughter Laura from her age as a toddler to her teen years. The second collection are portraits of regional musical artists, exploring the relationships between the music and visual arts.

Call For Artists - Hazleton Art League/CCLC Juried Exhibition

In May, the Hazleton Art League and the Cultural Council will be collaborating in a juried show at Penn State Hazleton’s beautiful campus. All of the information is contained in the Call for Artists on the web www.cclcarts.org - click on Call for Artists on the upper right (just above the, ahem, “Donate” button). Here are the highlights:
Art is accepted in three categories - painting, photography & works on paper. Three entries maximum. Entries must be postmarked by March 22 (Time’s a wastin’.). Entries consist of digital images or prints of works entered, from which selections for the show will be made, with accepted works delivered by the artist to the HAL by April 24th. There will be an opening reception on Sunday, May 9th.
The entry fee is $20 per work submitted, but Hazleton Art League and Wyoming Valley Art League members receive a $5.00 discount on each entry.
